Robert Q. Kreider
Robert Q. Kreider is the current President and CEO of Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health, and only the sixth President in the organization’s history, since Helena Devereux resigned from the position in 1957. Mr. Kreider joined Devereux in December 1994 as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. In 1996, he and Devereux were recognized by the National Association of Corporate Treasurers and Treasury and Risk Management Magazine with the Alexander Hamilton Award for excellence in corporate finance. In 2001, he became Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. He has been a member of the Devereux Board of Trustees since 2003. Prior to joining Devereux, Mr. Kreider served as Managing Director and co-Chief Executive Officer of Fairmount Capital Advisors, a financial advisory firm based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. During his two and a half year association with Fairmount, Mr. Kreider’s practice focused on advising health care providers in the Middle Atlantic States on major financings, investment strategies and merger and acquisition activities.
As Vice President of Public Finance for Kidder, Peabody & Company from 1987 through 1992, he structured financings for clients nationwide, primarily in healthcare and higher education. From 1980 to 1986 he was an attorney in the public finance department of Saul, Ewing, Remick and Saul, a Philadelphia law firm, where he acted as hospital counsel, bond counsel and underwriter’s counsel for a wide range of tax exempt issues.
Mr. Kreider earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, a Master of Arts in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Science in Management Science from Case Western Reserve University. He has lectured on healthcare finance topics for the National Health Lawyers Association, the Leonard Davis Institute of the University of Pennsylvania, the Healthcare Financial Management Association, and the Delaware Valley Healthcare Education and Research Foundation.
A member of the Moorestown Friends Meeting, Mr. Kreider is also Chairman of the Board of Cadbury Continuing Care at Home and a member of the Board of Cadbury Senior Services, both Quaker nonprofit organizations. He also has served on the Executive Committee of the National Association of Psychiatric Health Systems, a trade association of leading providers of behavioral healthcare services. He resides in Moorestown, New Jersey with his wife Barbara, head of the Science Department at Moorestown Friends School and 2007-2008 New Jersey non-public school "Teacher of the Year."
