Todd Harris shares PBIS data and outcomes at Paris Symposium

Devereux goes international!

Executive Director of Autism Services Todd Harris, Ph.D., was a presenter at the Association for Behavior Analysis International’s® (ABAI) Ninth International Conference, held November 14-15, in Paris.

Harris’ presentation – “Using Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) to Deliver Evidence-Based Services to Students with Autism” – focused on Devereux’s application of PBIS for students with autism spectrum disorder. Note: PBIS is a framework that helps schools/other organizations adopt evidence-based behavioral interventions to enhance the academic and social behavior outcomes for individuals. 

Sharing on a global level

“It was a fantastic opportunity to share all the wonderful and innovative things we do at Devereux – on a more global level,” Harris explained. “We sometimes take what we do for granted and assume everyone is implementing similar models and practices, but these conferences serve as a reminder that Devereux is conducting state-of-the-science work. As a result, we have an obligation to share practices and interventions that are working in our programs, both with staff and the individuals we serve.” 

Harris co-presented with leadership staff from the May Institute and the Kennedy Krieger Institute, along with two individuals in the behavioral healthcare field from Italy.
