September is Suicide Prevention and Awareness Month. September 7-13 is Suicide Prevention Week, and the World Health Organization has declared September 10th World Suicide Prevention Day—a worldwide initiative to spread awareness about suicide. Of all the national awareness campaigns, Suicide Prevention Month is one of the most important and carries a simple, potentially life-saving message: Suicide is preventable.
Though suicide is a complex subject many find difficult to discuss, dispelling some of the myths and ending the stigma associated with it can help save lives.
Suicide is Preventable
There is hope for those living with brain disorders. Early detection and intervention are critical.
