Devereux PA’s Dr. Jacquelyn Zavodnick named one of Main Line Today’s ‘Healthcare Heroes’

Main Line Today named Dr. Jacquelyn Zavodnick (right), medical director at the Devereux Pennsylvania Children’s Behavioral Health Services (CBHS) center, as one of its 2018 “Healthcare Heroes.” Also pictured, during the Healthcare Heroes awards luncheon, is Devereux Pennsylvania CBHS Executive Director (and Chief Operating Officer-elect) Dr. Rhea Fernandes.

Main Line Today, a regional magazine focusing on Philadelphia’s Main Line and western suburbs, recently selected Dr. Jacquelyn Zavodnick, medical director at the Devereux Pennsylvania Children’s Behavioral Health Services (CBHS) center, as one of its 2018 “Healthcare Heroes.”

The magazine’s “Healthcare Heroes” awards featured nurses, EMTs, nonprofit members, awareness advocates and mental health professionals – who go above and beyond their job descriptions – in its May issue and during an awards luncheon.  Dr. Zavodnick was nominated in the behavioral health category.

“Dr. Zavodnick is a selfless and humble collaborator who brings compassion and understanding to her day-to-day work with the children and adolescents she serves,” said Devereux Pennsylvania CBHS Executive Director (and Chief Operating Officer-elect) Dr. Rhea Fernandes. “We are so proud to have her on our staff, and to be recognized in this way for her outstanding talents and skills.”

About “Dr. Z”

Known fondly throughout Devereux Pennsylvania’s hallways as “Dr. Z,” Zavodnick – a Board Certified Adolescent Psychiatrist – has served children and adolescents for nearly three decades. She officially joined the organization in 2000 and, in her current role, she:

  • Oversees all levels of behavioral and physical healthcare across the CBHS locations across Southeastern Pennsylvania and Delaware; and
  • Provides psychiatric care and support for children and adolescents served by the Devereux Pennsylvania Community Services team, located in Phoenixville, Pa.

Honored for her incomparable level of care for Devereux’s youth, Dr. Fernandes added: “Dr. Z is a highly sought after child psychiatrist in our Community Services programs, and her compassionate, strengths-based, trauma-informed and evidence-based approach to care puts families at ease when their loved ones are facing significant, and sometimes critical, behavioral health challenges.”
