Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health, one of the oldest, largest, and most-respected nonprofit providers of behavioral healthcare in the nation, announced today its Board of Trustees has appointed Carl E. Clark II as its new President and Chief Executive Officer.

For many families, the holidays are spent dashing around trying to find those perfect presents, slaving over a hot stove cooking up family feasts and scurrying from one festivity to another. As the whirlwind weeks go by and stress levels soar, it might be time to slow down and remember what is important: spending time with the ones you love.
Devereux Center for Resilient Children Early Childhood Specialist and National Trainer Nefertiti B. Poyner, Ed.D., offers tips for families to focus on togetherness during the holiday season.
As an example of focusing on togetherness during the holidays, Devereux Center for Resilient Children Early Childhood Specialist and National Trainer Nefertiti B. Poyner, Ed.D. stressed the idea of enjoying the simple things.
“It doesn’t matter if the presents aren’t perfectly wrapped or the turkey is a tad overcooked,” explained Poyner. “What matters is you slow things down and focus on enjoying the everyday moments before they’re gone.”
The Philadelphia Foundation recently awarded Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health a $15,000 Leadership Grant to help the nonprofit implement Servant Leadership methodology and best practices across its centers in the Philadelphia region.
Two events benefitting Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Arizona raised nearly $20,000 this fall for youth with emotional, behavioral and cognitive differences, as well as those served by the center’s foster care programs.
Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Pennsylvania participated in its second job fair for immigrants, drawing professionals interested in a career in behavioral health. The job fair was held in partnership with the Welcoming Center for New Pennsylvanians.
