Devereux Day School in Chester County, Pennsylvania was recognized for its successful implementation of the universal system of school-wide positive behavioral interventions and supports (SWPBIS) at the fourth Annual Pennsylvania Positive Behavior Support (PAPBS) Network Implementers' Forum: Multi-Tiered Systems of Support on May 29-30, 2014 in Hershey, PA.

At the recognition ceremony, Day School received a badge for their previously awarded banner marking their achievement in implementing Tier I of SWPBIS with high fidelity.  This is the third consecutive year Day School has been recognized.

The PAPBS Network Implementer’s Forum is sponsored by the Bureau of Special Education, Pennsylvania Department of Education, with support from the member agencies of Pennsylvania’s State Leadership Team for School Based Behavioral Health. The forum is designed as a venue for stakeholders who are interested in advancing supports for all students, including students with disabilities, in the implementation of SWPBIS. It provides participants with information about establishing, maintaining and expanding SWPBIS through a three-tiered decision-making framework that guides the selection, integration and implementation of evidence-based practices for improving behavior outcomes for students.

The mission of the PAPBS Network, through training and technical assistance, is to support schools and their family and community partners to create and sustain comprehensive, school-based behavioral health support systems in order to promote the academic, social and emotional well-being of all Pennsylvania’s students. The network’s goal is to ensure that all schools have the necessary technical assistance, collaborative opportunities, and evaluative tools needed to overcome non-academic barriers to learning and achieve competence and confidence in advancing academic, social, and emotional success for all students.
