Congressman Daniel Webster attended the Bates Avenue Neighborhood Improvement Council recognition program honoring community volunteers and partners.    The program recognized community volunteers and partners who have contributed their time, talents and financial support to this program.  Their contributions have allowed the Bates Council to establish a Resource Center offering ACCESS Services, a GED Program and a community garden project.  The Bates Avenue Neighborhood Improvement Project is a Devereux Kids community outreach program funded by Kid Central, Inc., the lead agency for child welfare services.

Along with Congressman Webster and his staff, Eustis City Commissioners (Kress Muenzmay, Michael Holland, and Vice-Mayor of Eustis Albert Eckian) and City Manager, Diane Kramer and Chief of Police Robert Cobb, a number of Bates Avenue residents and other stakeholders such as the Rotary Club of Lake County Golden Triangle were also in attendance. Congressman Webster is a strong supporter of the Bates neighborhood program.  He encouraged the community to continue working together to create a safe community for children and families.
