November is National Adoption Month!

Devereux has joined with the Human Rights Campaign in their efforts to expand the number of qualified, loving families for foster care children awaiting adoption.
The goal of National Adoption Month is to raise awareness of the 104,000 children in foster care waiting to be adopted and to encourage families to consider foster care and adoption.
Devereux Arizona's Foster Care program has joined with the Human Rights Campaign’s All Children All Families (ACAF) project in their effort to expand the number of qualified, loving families for foster care children awaiting adoption. The Human Rights Campaign is an advocacy organization whose mission is to improve the lives of LGBT Americans.
In January, Devereux Arizona earned the Seal of Recognition from the Human Rights Campaign ACAF project making it the first agency in the state of Arizona to receive the Seal and joining twenty-six other organizations* across the country in achieving the benchmarks of LGBT cultural competence.
Over the summer Devereux Arizona’s Executive Director, Lane Barker, was invited to join the ACAF project's National Advisory Council, and in October she attended their annual meeting to learn how Devereux can further contribute as an ally to the Human Rights Campaign efforts to promote policies and practices that welcome LGBT foster and adoptive parents.
In their efforts to become an organization that welcomes and affirms members of the LGBT community, Arizona’s Foster Care program is exemplifying Devereux's commitment to building a resilient future for all children by inspiring hope, ensuring well-being, and empowering families to make positive life choices for special individuals in need of a loving and forever home.
