Washington, CT - On April 28, the Glenholme campus came to life with the extraordinary energy of Parents’ Weekend 2012. During this all-day event, families enjoyed breakfast in The Commons, a BBQ-style lunch, various sweets and confections, and countless on-campus activities. In The Center for the Arts, families visited the student art gallery, participated in dance and improvisation workshops, had their portraits drawn by caricature artists, and performed in the Glenholme Idol talent show. Meanwhile, in the gymnasium and on the softball field, the Parents vs. Students basketball game and the Parents vs. Students softball game provided the perfect venues for some friendly competition between family members - with Glenholme parents ultimately triumphing in both sports! Throughout the day, Segways, rock climbing, horseback riding, bungee runs, and a zip-line provided additional entertainment for Glenholme's more adventurous guests.

In the main tent, parents and faculty joyfully competed and collaborated in the Silent Auction and the “You Pick, We Draw” Raffle, while bidding on items generously donated by members and supporters of the Glenholme community. Generating nearly $20,000 for The Center for the Arts endowment and the new soccer field, this year's Silent Auction and Raffle demonstrate the incredible commitment of Glenholme families and faculty.

During the annual Parents’ Weekend event, Glenholme parents have the opportunity to bond with their children, to meet new people, and to become better acquainted with the school. As new parents are welcomed and guided by families who have experienced Parents’ Weekend in years past, connections are made, friendships are forged, and the Glenholme community is strengthened.
