Special Announcement - Dr. Amanda Lannie Honored
Dr. Amanda Lannie has been honored with an invitation to the Summer Research Training Institute, sponsored by the National Center for Special Education Research (NCSER), Institute of Education Sciences (IES), U.S. Department of Education.
Dr. Lannie was selected for this prestigious one-week training program, in recognition of her efforts to advance the field's understanding of education and special education in the areas of (a) evidence-based practices in urban classrooms, and (b) training for teachers of students with emotional and behavioral disorders (EBD).
Dr. Lannie will be joined by approximately 30 researchers from across the country. In past years this has included researchers from academia (e.g., Duke, Rutgers, University of Oregon, University of Georgia) and big beltway research centers. The goal of these institutes is to increase the national capacity of education researchers to conduct intervention studies that have scientifically credible methodology and analyses. This is important as there are scant few studies that tell us what interventions in education actually work.
