Washington, CT - The Glenholme campus greeted nearly two dozen graduates and their family members on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 for the school’s third annual Alumni Day. The afternoon occasion included a luncheon, visits with staff, a tour of the newly opened Center for the Arts, and a dress rehearsal of the student summer production, “The Wizard of Oz.”

This year's Alumni Day brought together the largest group of former Glenholme students and parents to date. In attendance were Devereux President and CEO, Robert Kreider, and Philip Darling, a student during the late 60s, a dedicated Glenholme supporter, and the honorary chairman of the Alumni Association.

During a luncheon at The Commons, alumni, parents, and staff reminisced, shared their ambitions, and exchanged ideas for advancing the Alumni Association. The group then enjoyed a tour of The Center for the Arts, where they viewed the theater, the art gallery, and the music classroom. Executive Director, Maryann Campbell, spoke to the group, encouraging them to reflect upon their experiences at Glenholme: “Now that you have entered young adulthood, we hope you look back at your time spent here as something quite good. Some of you honor us with your efforts - by taking the knowledge that Glenholme has given you, and teaching young children what you have learned. May you continue to share Glenholme in positive ways.” Afterwards, the guests enjoyed a full-dress rehearsal of the summer theatrical production, “The Wizard of Oz.” The many moments of laughter and applause during the performance provided the ideal close to a joyous gathering.
