Washington, CT - The 2011 Summer Program at Glenholme has offered plenty excitement for students with an expansive array of summer activities and adventures spanning arts, drama, music, sports, go-karts, equestrian, and the creative campus-wide competition known as Color Clash.

Since late June students have worked hard practicing their roles for "The Wizard of Oz." Scheduled to premier on Wednesday August 17, this delightfully entertaining, face-paced dramatization of L. Frank Baum classic adventure story of young Dorothy who finds herself lost in the bizarre and magical Land of Oz is sure to amuse the audience with the wicked witch, harmonizing munchkins, and certainly Dorothy, Toto, and their three friends.

In early August, students have also found excitement and camaraderie in the annual Color Clash, where teams competed in challenges and events to earn points and earn the Color Clash title. The Apache Relay recently had the teams trekking across campus to contend in painting projects, puzzle-piece challenges, sports competitions, fitness tests, and even a little first-aide fun. The nearly week-long event had the teams strategizing for each afternoon’s challenges with great enthusiasm.

All the while, students have enjoyed the beautiful summer afternoons in Connecticut involved in zipping around the go-kart track, playing team sports including volleyball and softball, and many creative on-campus activities. In addition to the campus-wide fun at Glenholme, an abundance of off-campus trips to local attractions and special excursions to New York to partake in major league baseball games, the zoo, restaurants, Broadway have had the students’ days filled with many pleasurable memories.

The Glenholme School is a therapeutic boarding school for young people diagnosed with Asperger's, ADHD, PDD, OCD, Tourette's, depression, anxiety as well as learning differences.
