Washington, CT - When Jonathon stepped in as Head of School on Tuesday May 10, the students and staff members were greeted with a magnanimous leader who was fully prepared to take on the challenging role. After all, the Head of School is not the job for the faint-hearted; it requires a certain amount of seriousness, a sense of humor, and an abundance of enthusiasm. Jon’s grand entrance at the morning assembly to the Imperial March from Star Wars clearly demonstrated that he was ready to reign.

Well versed in the demands of the Head of School role, Jon announced a student body schedule filled with many creative possibilities to keep everyone happy. With that necessity well managed, Executive Director Maryann Campbell easily passed the leadership powers to Jon and the day was set in motion.

Using his newly granted executive authority creatively, Jon granted relaxed attire, comfortable footwear and the option to don headwear of all kinds. A sensational summer-time feast was set for the Head of School’s special lunch which included hot dogs, curly fries, corn, strawberry smoothies and Indian Ice Cream. A similar festive dinner meal was planned and all were afforded fun opportunities for afternoon and evening events.

After a morning of issuing executive orders, the Head of School went right to business. With a particularly full agenda, Jon put the executive golf cart to good use. He visited folks about the campus, check on the facilities from the go-kart track and equestrian riding ring to the tennis courts and cottages, he checked in on numerous meetings, made surprise classroom visits, and even managed to find time for lunch with a selection of students and a special staff member. By mid-day, it was time to attend to the many vital phone calls and photos mandated by the importance of his role.

It was a grand day for all with Jon as Head of School. He ensured a happy and productive campus and governed Glenholme gregariously. The entire community awaits excitedly for the announcement of the next Head of School.
