The Colts edged out their opponents in the team competition for the Equestrain Trophy.
Washington, CT - In a Jeopardy-style team competition, two squads of students with strong command of their equestrian knowledge competed for the Equestrian Trophy in the first Equestrian Knowledge Bowl on February 24. The 40-minute fast-paced beat-the-buzzer competition, complete with audience support, challenged each teams’ horse-sense to correctly answer their question within a mere 20-second time frame.

The competition was keen. The Colts were quick to the buzzer, an advantage in such a close race; while the Fillies were confident in their answers, making few errors during the challenge. After an impressive display of knowledge and recollection by both teams, which brought the challenge down to the final stretch, the Colts trotted off as the 2011 champions with the final score of 33-32.

The champions will be honored with a special display along side the Equestrian Trophy in the equestrian classroom. The Equestrian Knowledge Bowl was an exciting afternoon of horse fun and all the students showed great sportsmanship, as well as the friends they invited to join the excitement as audience members. The next quest for the Equestrian Trophy promises to be another exciting competition.
