Washington, CT - You can tell when the Grizzlies take to the court, excitement fills the air. Keen competition keeps the team and their supporters seeking more sports excitement with the conclusion of each game. The keenest competition this season has been from the local athletic powerhouse, Rumsey Hall. While the Glenholme - Rumsey games are fast-paced basketball at its best, the Grizzlies simply could not seal a win against Rumsey.

Spirited competition, such as games against Rumsey, is key. While the team has also competed with Rushford, The Grove School and Maplebrook, it’s clear that Rumsey is where they want a win. This competition creates a great high school basketball environment and fuels the team’s desire to do better. The result is their incredible progress in the quality of play, the tenacity of the defense and their attention to detail on the court.

The half-way point of the season has seen several spectacular wins and a number of high spirited competitive near-wins. The current 4-4-0 record has the Grizzlies hungering for more; with the entire school rallied around their team looking for a fantastic conclusion to the basketball season and with several more games remaining against Woodhall and Grove, the Glenholme Grizzlies could very well walk off the court with a triumphant season record for 2011.
