Washington, CT - The Glenholme School concluded their annual Thanksgiving Basket Food Drive in spectacular holiday fashion. The month-long event, organized by the students of the school’s Community Service Program, collected more than 2000 items through staff and family contributions which created twelve complete Thanksgiving Day feasts. Each basket included a gift-card for the feast tradition turkey and all the holiday fixings including scrumptious cranberry sauce and corn muffins. All the items were delivered to the thankful team at the VNA Northwest, Inc of Bantam on Monday November 22.

Caring for our community members is central to the community service program and Glenholme’s food drive is noteworthy tradition. This year’s accomplishment is by far the best in the school’s history and an exceptional achievement given the modest size of the school population. A hearty congratulations goes to the entire Glenholme Community on a job well done.

The Glenholme School, a Devereux Center, is an exceptional boarding school for students with special needs, which offers an individually prescribed learning environment with a steadfast academic curriculum. Using our effective individualized services, we apply a positive behavior support model focused on development of social skills and lifelong strategies for success. The school’s milieu therapy addresses varying levels of academic, social and special needs development in boys and girls ages 10-18 and postgraduates. We prepare graduates for continued education in traditional day schools, boarding schools, colleges and universities.
