Washington, CT - The Glenholme Grizzlies soccer team faced tough competition and endured the ever-changing New England elements with tenacity and grace. The team’s participation in the September 11th Invitational Tournament at the Storm King School kicked off a fantastic season of futbol. Newcomers to the team played tough and conducted themselves as excellent ambassadors of the school, while the veterans were outstanding role models providing assistance and instruction to their new teammates. Despite the stiff competition, the team maintained an unparalleled level of excitement for soccer throughout the season.

There were a number of core scorers and tenacious goaltenders that kept the team competitive. All the players learned to work together with support, communication and teamwork. Together overcame their apprehensions, demonstrated camaraderie and maintained a superior level of sportsmanship. Congratulations to all as the final whistle for the 2010 fall futbol marks the end of wonderful outdoor season for the soccer team, the sideline support and the school.

Many of the soccer players also enjoy basketball and we look forward to them bringing their teamwork, energy and enthusiasm to the court.
