Washington, CT - The beautiful autumn afternoon colors of October 3 provided a delightful backdrop for canines to collect on the Glenholme campus. Family members traveled from surrounding towns and locations across Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, and Massachusetts to celebrate man’s best friend in the school’s seventh annual Canine Collection.

With an audience amassed on the hillside overlooking the arena, nearly two dozen participants took turns parading their precious pooches, demonstrating their canine’s uncanny capabilities, and sharing the details of their special bonds. They captivated the crowd of dog-lovers with their dancing dogs, crooning canines, two-pawed performances, and the obedience talents of the Glenholme’s prized Great Pyrenees therapy dog, Beethoven. Glenholme’s Canine Collection created much applause and many smiles; a wonderful success in celebrating the extraordinarily positive impact canines have in our daily lives.

The Glenholme School, a Devereux Center, is an exceptional boarding school for students with special needs, which offers an individually prescribed learning environment with a steadfast academic curriculum. Using our effective individualized services, we apply a positive behavior support model focused on development of social skills and lifelong strategies for success. The school’s milieu therapy addresses varying levels of academic, social and special needs development in boys and girls ages 10-18 and postgraduates. We prepare graduates for continued education in traditional day schools, boarding schools, colleges and universities. For more information about The Glenholme School and its program, visit
