Graduates, former students and parents gather at Glenholme for the second annual Alumni Day.
Washington, CT - Graduates gather at the Glenholme School for the second annual Alumni Day on August 17, 2010. The largest return of graduates, former students, and parents enjoyed a leisure afternoon luncheon with staff and faculty where they reminisced, shared their ambitions, and exchanged ideas. Graduates shared their experiences in an enlightening exchange with members of the Glenholme’s Class of 2011.

The alumni support of the school and commitment to future endeavors was extraordinary as the attendees pledged support for and encouraged the creation of the school’s Alumni Association. Philip Darling, a dedicated supporter and student of the school in the late 60’s was named honorary chairman for the association. Wrapping up the exceptional afternoon was an outside tour of the Center for the Arts along with enjoying the dress rehearsal for this summer’s theatrical production, Music Man Jr.

It was another spectacular event. The connection and camaraderie between Glenholme staff and alumni remain strong as demonstrated by the participation of alumni spanning the four decades of the school’s history and the formation of the Alumni Association, which promises an exciting influx of fresh, new ideas for advancing Glenholme.

The Glenholme School, a Devereux Center, is an exceptional boarding school for students with special needs, which offers an individually prescribed learning environment with a steadfast academic curriculum. Using our effective individualized services, we apply a positive behavior support model focused on development of social skills and lifelong strategies for success. The school’s milieu therapy addresses varying levels of academic, social and special needs development in boys and girls ages 10-18 and postgraduates. We prepare graduates for continued education in traditional day schools, boarding schools, colleges and universities.
