Washington, CT - On Monday, August 16 Glenholme culinary connoisseurs enjoyed a tasty treat. With the aid of Glenholme parent, Janet Livingston and her son, Sam; two special guest chefs, Johnny Iuzzini and David Arnold came to campus to inspire students with their talents and love of uniquely crafting culinary creations. Johnny Iuzzini, recently named the head judge for Bravo’s Top Chef and executive pastry chef at Restaurant Jean Georges of NYC; and David Arnold, the director of the French Culinary Institute’s technology department and a visionary for the future of the culinary industry, fused their passion for science and the culinary craft to create several out-of-this-world treats using unique equipment and exciting methods.

The culinary connoisseurs enjoyed the creamiest ice cream created via instant freezing through the use of liquid nitrogen, chocolate noodles crafted with life-saving medical equipment and pineapples infused with blueberry juice by means of a vacuum chamber. Students and staff were captivated by the sheer enthusiasm and excitement swirling around the afternoon presentation. Clearly a career in the culinary field can be a fantastic life-long pursuit involving much more than ordinary ovens and everyday utensils.
