Washington, CT - Adding an extra spin for the final round of the Devereux’s Best Dance Crew was special guest judges, Nicole Whitaker and Luis Espinosa, top ranked nationally competitive break dancers and instructors. The May 25th competition brought out the dancers best spins, stomps, scoots and struts as they competed for the lone spot at the top. This season, all five teams competed with the cumulative scoring system and the guest judges created an extra buzz with their reinforcing comments.

The competition results were impressive. With barely four points separating all the teams from the top spot, it is evident every performer wanted to win it all. Taking the title for the final round was the team, Tenacious Dev, who earned a perfect score for their highly energetic and well choreographed performance to the Trackademics’ remix of “Tell Me When To Go.” Incorporating fantastic footwork, terrific teamwork and highlights of individual talents helped them earn not only the top spot of the final round but also the competition, barely beating out Only the Dev Survive and their consistent energy, effort and enthusiasm.

While all the competitors received a post-competition break dance lesson and dinner with the special guest judges, the winners danced off with a special master class courtesy of Ms. Whitaker and Mr. Espinosa. Blown away by the students’ energy and enthusiasm, the Glenholme guests remained reluctant to leave at the end of the day. Both are highly enthusiastic about a future involvement with the students and the school. Next season promises even more dance energy and excitement.
