Voorhees, NJ - Saturday, April 10, 2010 was the setting for Devereux New Jersey’s 6th Annual Dinner Dance and Auction for Autism at the Mansion on Main Street. The event was sold out and guests were treated to delicious food, a variety of silent auction baskets, and exciting live auction items. Kelly Leyman, Director of Development, stated the event was “Extraordinary.” She attributed the event’s growing success to Devereux NJ’s Advisory Board, Devereux NJ’s Parent Auxiliary Group, and a collection of wonderful staff who volunteered for the event.
Devereux knows its organization would be incomplete without community support. The 2010 Community Award was presented to Tom and Barbara McFadden of Woodbury, New Jersey. Tom and Barbara opened their home and hosted the first ever “Taste of Autumn” fundraiser. The money raised at the McFadden’s was used to purchase holiday presents for children who have been removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect and have found a safe and secure environment within the Treatment Foster Care Program of Devereux New Jersey.
Maureen Walsh, Executive Director, thanked everyone who attended and commented that, “Devereux New Jersey would not be able to attain our objectives without the support of individuals, families, and businesses that recognize the critical work we do and choose to partner with us. The proceeds realized from this Dinner Dance and Auction help to fill in the gaps not covered in order to be able to effectively run our operation.”
Devereux New Jersey realized a 100% increase in sponsorships this year from the following companies: IPPC Pharmacy, Adler’s Pharmacy, Dietz and Watson, Berlin

In addition, the generous donations received from local businesses and community members provided spectacular live and silent items. Guests walked away with great treasures including: Southwest and AirTrain airline tickets, Disney World passes, Broadway shows, overnight stays at the Doubletree Philadelphia and Wilmington Concord-Pike, and a Deep Sea Fishing expedition. The auction also offered amazing tickets for the guests’ favorite sports teams such Phillies box seats from W.B. Mason, 76ers tickets donated by Comcast, and the chance to see the Phillies play at Yankee Stadium.
The real highlight of the evening was that this event will assist Devereux New Jersey consumers who reside, work and volunteer in the community to reach new levels of achievement and growth necessary to succeed in life.
