Washington, CT - Not the profession of the faint-at-heart, the Head of School requires an individual with a sense of humor, touch of seriousness, and lots and lots of energy. This position encompasses demanding responsibilities of operations and management of the entire school including financial manager, counselor, administrator, and general fall-guy when it comes to taking responsibility for any mis-steps in the school or on the school grounds. Certainly, responsibility is rewarded with the perks only this job can offer; setting rules for attire, evening activities, designing the meal plan, dining with students, and certainly the executive golf cart bring pleasure to this prominent position.

On Monday April 26, Jordan stepped into the role of “Head of School for a Day” and he certainly brought his best qualities to the position. His take charge attitude at morning announcements set the tone for the day. His first executive orders included relaxed attire for students and staff. He also instituted a few exciting student-oriented changes including an amazing meal plan particularly enjoyed by students, zipping on the go-karts for P.E., classroom specials, and an after school basketball game. The hectic day as Head of School necessitated the use of executive golf cart in order to efficiently tend to his demanding schedule of student and staff meetings, phone calls, and appointments. Despite all the decision making and meetings that filled his official day, Jordan still found time to relax and enjoy lunch with several members of the student body.

Each year students and staff anticipate the excitement of the special day when the coveted auction item, Head of School for a Day takes charge from the administration. It was spectacular day for Glenholme under the direction of Head of School Jordan. The effect has the entire campus anticipating the upcoming opportunity to meet our next Head of School.
