Washington, CT - Glenholme students captured the Broadway theme of Cocoa Café in grand fashion. Cocoa Café, the regular arts event offering, provides students an opportunity to perform for their peers and staff members in a comfortable setting.

The January Cocoa Café was bursting with song as students stepped on stage to sing musical numbers from Les Miserables, Oliver, Fantastics, Song and Dance, Aladdin, Rent. In the true open forum of the Cocoa Café, students who sang popular musical numbers from Dave Matthews, the Beatles were welcomed; and The Band, comprised of several Glenholme students, performed an original composition.

Each Cocoa Café inspires the students to hone their talents in song, dance, speech and stand-up and the results are evident in their improved self-confidence as performers and artists. Students are encouraged to prepare their Cocoa Café acts with a monthly theme in mind. There is already growing anticipation for the next Cocoa Café, set for late February to the theme, “Inspiration.”
