Washington, CT - The Glenholme Grizzlies have faced strong competition from the Gunnery, Rumsey Hall, Woodhall, Maplebrook, and Kilbourne during the 2009-2010 basketball season. Despite several setbacks since their home opener, the team has rebounded with enthusiasm and enduring effort to take a victory over Kilbourne in their final home game and capture the Maplebrook Invitational Tournament title. Both victories are a tremendous testament to their growth as individual players and development as a team this season.

The Grizzlies enduring effort has been evident in every game; particularly against Rumsey Hall where the team repeated rallied to reduce the scoring margin. While the final score was unfavorable for Glenholme, the team walked off the court with their heads high knowing they held Rumsey to their closest victory of the season. The result of the Grizzlies’ extraordinary cohesive effort this season has rewarded them with unparalleled teamwork, spectacular sportsmanship and pride.

When the Grizzlies captured their tournament title at the Maplebrook Invitational, the team demonstrated true class on the court and the understanding of the effects of a hard fought game loss as they encouraged their opponents’ efforts to excel. Ultimately their outstanding basketball performance, demonstration of excellent sportsmanship and enthusiasm for the sport earned them many accolades from coaches, referees and spectators alike.
