Washington, CT - The Glenholme varsity basketball team emerged victorious in their 2010 home opener against the Grove School on January 7, with a 51-46 score. The team played a hard-fought, face-paced game and demonstrated great enthusiasm, sportsmanship and pride.  Nick M and Will S were the primary scorers for the Grizzlies game against Grove. Nick converted several three-pointers and took advantage of numerous fast break opportunities, while Will maintained a strong presence in the paint both offensively and defensively. Every player contributed to the team effort including junior varsity players, Eric T and Brian B, who had the opportunity to don their blue and gold colors for the game. Joe E made a strong appearance for his return to the court after being on the injured reserve list for the beginning of the season. The Glenholme Grizzly, the school’s mascot, rallied the supporters with his energetic, game-break antics. It was a marvelous home opener for Glenholme basketball and we look forward to more exciting hoop-maker happenings in the coming months.
