Washington, CT - Devereux Glenholme is dedicated to providing quality professional development seminars to faculty and area social workers. On November 11, Dr. Joseph Crumbley, a nationally recognized expert, addressed important issues of adoption in a well attended seminar of Glenholme’s professional development program.  Dr. Crumbley’s knowledge, expertise and welcoming manner resonates in a way that made the message hit home with Glenholme faculty and area social workers alike.

Dr. Crumbley has provided consultations and training both nationally and internationally with the Child Welfare League of America and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, as well as with entities in Ontario Canada; Durban South Africa; and New Zealand. He has appeared on British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), PBS and The Montel Williams Show and has consulted for 60 Minutes, The Oprah Winfrey Show and The New York Times. In addition to his consulting and training efforts, Dr. Crumbley co-authored two books and produced a DVD training series for professionals and parents. Notably, he has provided expert testimony and briefings at the U.S. House of Representative, U.S.  Congress, and the United Nations.

The November seminar on Adoption Issues with Dr. Joseph Crumbley successfully concludes The Glenholme School’s 2009 professional development program, which included seminars on Adolescents and Anxiety, Implementing Pragmatic Language Intervention, and Establishing Limits and Boundries with Difficult People. Watch for details on the upcoming 2010 program, which is anticipated to incorporate a number of significant topics affecting families and individuals.
