Washington, CT - On Tuesday, October 27, five Devereux Glenholme students trekked to New York City for a tour and concert at Carnegie Hall. Alex F, Mike F, Brandon K, Ian M, and Patrick Mc were astonished by the musical talent and proficiency of Lang Lang and Friends, which included the musical prodigy Lang Lang and several student pianists!  The program was part of a festival celebrating Chinese culture and also  included Schubert’s Rondo in A Major, a medley of familiar tunes from Carmen, and various Chinese folk songs vocalized in Chinese and harmonized on a traditional Chinese two-string instrument, an erhu. The second half of the program included an instrumental trio of piano, violin, and cello performing Tchaikovsky’s Trio in A Minor.

Carnegie Hall is a traditional event for the Glenholme Arts Program and each trip provides the students with a unique opportunity to experience a a true appreciation for cultural music.  Certainly a trip to New York City cannot be complete without a special added highlight. This trip the Glenholme arts adventurers enjoyed witnessing the Phillies’ team motorcade coming into the city for The World Series.
