The Glenholme's Post-Secondary Program provides supports to foster an independent lifestyle.
Washington, CT -

Fall is a busy time for the juniors and seniors at Devereux Glenholme, as they attend an abundance of activities concentrating on preparation for their future.  Organizing this effort is Glenholme’s Post-Secondary Program, which focuses on assisting students in their future planning and ultimate transition to the independence of college living or career development. Lou Ann Proctor-Floyd and Rachel Andersen, two of the post-secondary program coordinators, are meeting with students, in groups and individually, to explore their dreams and create an achievable plan for the months and years to come.

Parents of seniors and juniors will have an opportunity to meet with the post-secondary program coordinators during focused seminars in December.  The sessions are structured according to the academic level of the students and will take place prior to the annual holiday concert on December 17 from 2:00 pm to 2:45 pm.  For parents of seniors, the topic is “Being poised to get the support your young adult needs in college,” while the topic for parents of juniors is “Exploring the range of learning and living options for young adults who need support."

Detailed information about the seminars will be mailed directly to parents of juniors and seniors within the coming weeks. If you have questions, contact Mary Guilfoile at 860.868.7377 or mguilfoi@devereux.org.
