On September 26, 2009 at Citizens Bank Park, home of the Philadelphia Phillies, over 12,000 people participated in the seventh annual Philadelphia Walk Now for Autism Speaks. Devereux of southeastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey joined together to participate in this year’s event. They aligned with a number of other local organizations and hosted a table at the event’s community resource fair. Many of the walkers stopped by the Devereux table where each child was given a bright balloon and the family received important program and resource materials. Devereux also sponsored a team of walkers that was made up of Devereux family, friends and staff members. Everyone had a great time at this important event and the walk raised over $100,000 to support the advancement of autism research.
