Florida - Florida State Representative Ralph Poppell paid a visit to the Devereux Florida Viera Campus on September 22, 2009.
Poppell toured the campus, which serves 132 children and adolescents at a time, to learn more about the children, their needs, and how Devereux helps treat children with mental health disorders and intellectual/developmental disabilities. “We are grateful for Representative Poppell’s interest in learning more about the services we provide right here in the Brevard community,” stated Devereux Florida’s executive director, Steven Murphy.
The Devereux Florida Viera Campus is located on 55 acres in central Brevard County. Programs offered at this site include the Intensive Residential Treatment Program for children and adolescents with mental health disorders, a Dual Diagnosis Center for children and adolescents with symptoms of both mental illness and intellectual/developmental disabilities, and an on-site accredited school.
About Devereux Florida The Devereux Foundation, founded in 1912 in Pennsylvania, planted roots in Brevard County just over 20 years ago, to create Devereux Florida. The organization has grown by leaps and bounds to meet the needs of children and families in Florida. What began with our programs in Viera, today Devereux Florida operates almost 50 programs in 35 counties statewide, touching the lives of over 13,000 children on an annual basis.
