Washington, CT - On Thursday, September 24, 2009, Devereux Glenholme got back into the swing of a new academic year with its traditional fall festival, which smoothes the transition from the summer camp environment to the rigors of the regular school routine. The festival is designed to positively influence the student body and to create enthusiasm for engaging the school’s program. The students actively participated in Jousting, Bounce and Box, Pitching, Defender Dome, Obstacle Course, Hoops, Balloon Pop, and Golf Pitch and Catch. Fun and entertaining events included Face Painting, Jewelry Making, Bubble Gum Blowing Contest, Oatmeal Dig, Birthday Walk, and Karaoke. Traditional treats of snow cones and popcorn along with an assortment of prizes were enjoyed by many.

The Glenholme Fall Festival is an appealing introduction to the rigors of a new school year for the students. Enjoyment was felt across campus; from boxing to balloon pop and face painting to pitching.

Devereux Glenholme is an exceptional boarding school for students with special needs, which offers an individually prescribed learning environment with a steadfast academic curriculum. Using our effective individualized services, we apply a positive behavior support model focused on development of social skills and lifelong strategies for success. The school’s milieu therapy addresses varying levels of academic, social and special needs development in boys and girls ages 10-18 and postgraduates.
