The Student Leadership Conference traveled to Torrington to interview Mayor Ryan J. Bingham on the topic "How do you get people with their own agenda to cooperate for the greater good?"
Washington, CT - The summer at Devereux Glenholme is a time of growth and exploration. This is no exception for the Student Leadership Conference, which annually starts in July. This year, the objective of the conference is to create a presentation focusing on the question “How do you get people with their own agenda to cooperate for the greater good?”

During July and August, the students conducted interviews with Glenholme campus leaders, including Maryann Campbell, Dr. Patrick Queenan, Judy Cooper and Sharon Murphy, as well as Torrington Mayor Ryan J. Bingham. The findings of these interviews are being compiled into their presentations for students and faculty during the school year.

Student Leadership Conference organizers, Mary Guilfoile and Pat Therault, are proud of the independence, dedication, and enthusiasm the students have demonstrated for this project. The Conference objectives and activities at Glenholme are part of the Smart and Good High School initiative and are designed to assist young people to see that together they can positively affect the school climate and culture.

Devereux Glenholme is an exceptional boarding school for students with special needs, which offers an individually prescribed learning environment with a steadfast academic curriculum.
