Washington, CT - The Glenholme Movie Club is a year-long project in which students work through the entire movie making process from start to finish. The club offers students an excellent opportunity to build cooperation and team-work. It also encourages students to draw on their own creativity and challenges them to try new roles that they have not had the opportunity, or confidence, to attempt in the past.

The Movie Club is in its third year of operation and has completed three films; Don’t Be Such a Drama Queen, a teen drama, Firebirdies, A True Badminton Story, a comedy about high-stakes underground badminton and Quarantine, a medical mystery about a strange illness affecting a school’s student body. This year, the club will be utilizing the entire year to produce its fourth film with the use of brand new equipment

The Movie Club also held it’s first ever academy awards to recognize students’ exceptional effort and performance.

Devereux Glenholme is an exceptional boarding school for students with special needs, which offers an individually prescribed learning environment with a steadfast academic curriculum. Using our effective individualized services, we apply a positive behavior support model focused on development of social skills and lifelong strategies for success. The school’s milieu therapy addresses varying levels of academic, social and special needs development in boys and girls ages 10-18 and postgraduates. We prepare graduates for continued education in traditional day schools, boarding schools, colleges and universities.
