Washington, CT - The 2009 Devereux Glenholme Academic Fair held Thursday, May 21, was an enormous hit. The afternoon campus-wide event provides students the opportunity to showcase their class work with pride. Entrants into this year’s Academic Fair spanned all academic subjects with observations, research projects and demonstrations.

Parents, faculty, staff and students filled the gymnasium for their chance to enjoy this student-demonstrated education opportunity and were richly rewarded with appealing presentations. The many displays and exhibitions spanned a vast array of topics from peanuts to physics to physical education and everything in between. The demonstrators actively engaged their audience and presented their works in grand style.

The Academic Fair supports many values of the school by promoting personal responsibility, respect for diversity, fairness of others, family involvement, and spirit of unity. This event brings the Glenholme Community together in a social setting while allowing the student the opportunity to demonstrate pride in their accomplishments.

Devereux Glenholme is an exceptional boarding school for students with special needs, which offers an individually prescribed learning environment with a steadfast academic curriculum. Using our effective individualized services, we apply a positive behavior support model focused on development of social skills and lifelong strategies for success. The school’s milieu therapy addresses varying levels of academic, social and special needs development in boys and girls ages 10-18 and postgraduates. We prepare graduates for continued education in traditional day schools, boarding schools, colleges and universities.
