Holiday CD sales effort by Josh S boosted Center for the Arts Campaign.
Washington, CT - Throughout the school year, Devereux Glenholme students have implemented many fundraisers befitting local and national causes. Each time, they successfully raised the donation bar higher and higher. Two of the student-originated fundraisers this year were specifically earmarked for the Center of the Arts Campaign.

Last month the students of Ms O’Toole class offered 20 decorated flowerpots with soil and flower seeds as a special raffle benefiting the Center for the Arts Campaign. The campus support for this campaign represented nearly 85% of the student population as well as many faculty members. The flower pot fundraiser successfully generated over $470 in proceeds for the Center for the Arts.

During the holiday season, Josh S and his family personally funded the production of Josh’s first CD, which included two solo traditional holiday songs, “O Holy Night” and “I’ll be home for Christmas.” The CDs were sold to family, friends, students and staff after the Annual Holiday Concert in December for $20 each and the campaign raised over $500 for the Center of the Arts.

Glenholme students strive to earn a role in the annual summer play production and the construction of the Center for the Arts will move their performance venue from an outdoor stage to a truly authentic setting. The anticipation of the Center for the Arts construction has the Glenholme campus, students and staff alike, buzzing with excitement and every effort is being made to support the campaign. Once complete, the Center for the Arts will provide the school with the one venue on campus with ample space for large events, performances, and assemblies.

Contact the Director of Development, Anthony Mercogliano, at amercog@devereux.org for ways to contribute to the Center for the Arts Campaign which can include the purchase of Josh’s Holiday CD.
