Kennesaw, GA - The Devereux Georgia Treatment Network has been awarded two major gift commitments, totaling $550,000, in support of their work to keep children safe and provide effective treatment services.

The Joseph B. Whitehead Foundation approved a $350,000 gift in April for campus improvements and The James M. Cox Foundation has committed $200,000 to invest in critical programs.

“We are so incredibly excited to have the support of the foundation community to carry forth our mission to empower at-risk youth and their families to succeed,” stated Beth Chadwick, senior vice president for external affairs and interim executive director for the Georgia center. "These children are very special and are excellent investments for the future."

The gifts come at a pivotal time for Devereux Georgia. The economic downturn has placed many more children and families at risk and there is an unprecedented need for services. Many smaller providers in the area have had to close or reduced services. However, Devereux remains committed to providing the highest level of care for children with severe emotional and behavioral challenges.

Generous charitable gifts from donors are enabling Devereux to maintain excellent program quality and provide youth with the treatment needed to turn their lives around.
