Kennesaw, GA - Each year, the Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church in Marietta, Georgia celebrates its “Great Day of Service” by encouraging members to adopt a community service program. This will make the fourth year that members have selected Devereux for a project that makes life better for youth. While the original service day of March 28 was re-scheduled due to severe storms, the team showed up on the following Saturday to do the work.

This year’s project supported our clinical treatment team to provide activities to nurture our younger children and those with developmental disabilities. The project was to renovate a small building that will house the new play therapy program.

On Saturday, April 4th, volunteers from the church arrived bright and early on Devereux’s campus to paint the building and provide landscape for the surrounding area. Five volunteers came out and they were determined to get the project done. In just four short hours, the building had been painted and flowers and trees were planted to enhance the appearance of the area.

We greatly appreciate Mt. Bethel UMC and its members for their commitment to making our community a great place for everyone!
