Washington, CT - Devereux Glenholme supports Hurricane Ike survivors through a special fundraising event. The student body effort was initiated by the student council president, Creighton H., with the Responsive class of Carolyn Dahl, who teaches English and mathematics. In a single day, the fast-acting group of eight raised a total of $219.38, of which $77 originated from soliciting student contributions and the remainder from direct sales of baked goods thoughout the campus. A school-wide raffle supplemented the student body efforts to raise the total contribution over $1,010. This is a tremendous accomplishment in relation to the campus population. The school's effort aided the 11 families of the Devereux Center in League City, TX affected by Hurricane Ike.
