Washington, CT - On Thursday, September 25, 2008, The Devereux Glenholme School kicked-off the 2008-2009 school year with their Fourth Annual Carnival event. This year’s carnival challenges included jousting, pitching, defender dome, basketball, Frisbee hoop, the birthday walk, balloon pop, apple bobbing, and oatmeal dig. Fun and entertaining events included face painting, the photo booth, jewelry making, bubble gum blowing contest, and treats of all sorts.

One of the carnival’s hot spots was the pitching booth, where boys and girls gave it their all. Several student pitches were clocked at speeds over 60 m.p.h. Fun was had by all; from face painting to Frisbee and popcorn to pitching, the events of Glenholme’s Fourth Annual Carnival spread a smile campus-wide.

The Devereux Glenholme School is an exceptional learning environment for young people with special needs. Set on over 100 acres in Washington, Connecticut, Glenholme is ideal for students, ages 11-21, with varying levels of academic, social and emotional development; as our philosophy is that the development of the whole student contributes to academic success. The Glenholme School’s goal is to prepare its graduates for continued education in traditional schools, boarding schools, colleges and universities.
