Devereux Pennsylvania Adult Services Earns Three-year Accreditation

CARF International (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) announced on April 2, 2015 that Devereux Pennsylvania Adult Services has been accredited for a period of three years for its Residential Rehabilitation Program: Brain Injury Specialty Program. This is the first accreditation that the international accrediting body, CARF, has awarded to Devereux PA Adult Services.

“A three-year accreditation is a significant achievement,” said Carol Oliver, Pennsylvania State Director and Vice President of Operations. “I cannot express how proud I am of our team at Devereux PA Adult Services.  This represents our continued dedication to the individuals and families we serve, as well as our commitment to providing the best quality programs,” she said.

According to CARF, this decision represents the highest level of accreditation that can be awarded to an organization and shows the organization’s substantial conformance to the CARF standards.  An organization receiving a Three-Year Accreditation has put itself through a rigorous peer review process.  It has demonstrated to a team of surveyors during an on-site visit is commitment to offering programs and services that are measurable, accountable, and of the highest quality.

Devereux Pennsylvania provides a vast continuum of programs and services for children, adolescents and adults living with intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, and mental health challenges.  At multiple centers and community-based settings in northeast and southeast Pennsylvania, Devereux operates residential and day treatment programs, community-based group homes, respite care programs, supervised apartments, and vocational and pre-vocational training.

CARF is an independent, nonprofit accrediting body whose mission is to promote the quality, value, and optimal outcomes of services through a consultative accreditation process that centers on enhancing the lives of persons served.  Founded in 1966 as the Commission of Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, and now known as CARF International, the accrediting body establishes consumer-focused standards to help organizations measure and improve the quality of their programs and services.  For more information about the accreditation process, please visit the CARF website at www.carf.org.
